The only objection I’ve ever received from buyers considering a home in Verdana Village is that it’s too far inland. After all, until the adjacent Publix and shopping center are finished next summer, it’s about 15 minutes to the nearest stores and restaurants. That’s not a long drive to me, but everyone has a different perspective on what’s “far away.” But one this is for sure, being a bit further from the Gulf certainly protected the residents in Verdana Village from the destruction inflicted by Hurricane Ian. Thankfully, almost no damage was experienced in Verdana Village. There were a few signs and bushes down, but that’s about it. Even screens held up for most homeowners.
Now to the big news! If you haven’t heard already, the outdoor tennis and pickleball courts are now open in Verdana Village! They look beautiful and experienced Pro Pat Glaunert is on site in the new pro shop that is also open available for lessons and clinics. When he’s not helping residents with their game, he’s doing a fabulous job working hard on maintaining the clay courts. Stop by and talk with Pat today!
Verdana Village now has 5 har-true clay tennis courts, one hard tennis court with a ball machine, and 12 pickleball courts. All courts are open and lit up at night. The pro shop is usually open M-F during business hours.
The indoor sports complex will include 2 tennis courts, 4 pickleball courts, a full basketball court, fitness center, Yoga studio, locker room, cafe, and pro shop. As you can see below, construction is well underway and the indoor sports complex is expected to open in Summer 2023.
